Another international observer prevented from entering Belarus
On 30 September, the Belarusian border troops did not allow Ukrainian activist of the International Observation Mission of the Committee of International Control over the Human Rights Situation in Belarus Volodymyr Senko to enter the country.
The human rights defender was told that his name was on the list of non-grata persons. However, the border troops failed to state the official grounds for the detention.
Thus, Mr. Senko became the 12th activist of the Committee prevented from entering Belarus for their observation activities.
At the same time, at the OSCE Human Dimension meeting held in Warsaw on 29 September, Belarus was once again recommended to implement it obligations in the sphere of freedom of movement, in particular, to refrain from interfering with international human rights observers’ entering the country. In his reply to the criticism, the Belarusian delegation’s spokesperson admitted the existence of black lists.
