The campaign “Our Home” was going to organize a
subbotnik in the local cemetery in 14 Partisans Street on 1 October.
Campaign members invited all those who cared about the accomplishment of the
territory and 25 deputies of the Slutsk Town Council to the action. However,
policemen, KGB members and communal services created obstacles to the
subbotnik. A tractor arrived at the venue and it almost ran over people. One of
the journalists covering the action was injured – she hardly managed to escape
the tractor. The reporter was taken to hospital.
Policemen also tried to detain two human rights activists of “Our Home” –
Krystsina Shatsikava and Valery Shchukin, informs the press service of the
civil campaign.
