Homel: Andrei Tsianiuta detained again
The “Young Front” activist had been released from jail three days ago, after serving 10-day arrest for handing out invitations to the People's Assembly.
The detention took place at about 11
a.m. on 4 October. According to Mikola Bianko, the correspondent
for Radio “Racyja” who was present during the detention, two riot policemen
approached them. They said that somebody had stolen something from apartments not
far from the regional library, as a result of which they needed to find some
cellular phones.
As a result, Andrei Tsianiuta was detained and guarded to
the Chyhunachny District Police Department. In fact, his detention was
connected to the fact that he is a member of the organizing committee of the
People's Assembly. At the police department Andrei had a talk with the head of
the public order department, Aliaksandr Koshman, who made him sign a warning
about the possible punishment for the organization of the People's Assembly.
Koshman also said that such warning would also be issued to other organizers of
the assembly in Homel, including Vasil Paliakou, chairman of the Homel regional
branch of the United Civil Party.
