Baranavichy authorities ban picket in support of Yuliya Tymoshenko
The Baranavichy City
Executive Committee didn't allow Ryhor Hryk, a member of the United Civil Party
and the Movement “For Freedom” to hold a picket in support of the Ukrainian
politician Yulia Tymoshenko who has been sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment.
The answer of the Baranavichy CEC (01-15/418/6), signed by its deputy chairman
Dz. Kastsiukevich, states that the picket is not authorized as “the aim of the
picket can be considered as interference wit the internal affairs of the
neighbor country”.
The activist intended to hold the picket on 16 Octobe under the slogan “When
the truth stands up – freedom will come. Freedom to Yulia Tymoshenko”/
It is already the fifth picket of Ryhor Hryk banned by the Baranavichy City
Executive Committee. The activist intends to apply to the procuracy concerning
the violation of his constitutional rights.
