Brest executive officials impede Leftists’ activities
Activists of Brest city office of the Belarusian Leftist Party “Fair World” have lodged a complaint with the regional executive committee, after the city authorities refused to provide the office with a legal address.
The official ban said the applied premises should be registered as a non-residential property, first. Meanwhile, the activists say the requirement is ungrounded and runs counter to the law.
“The Housing Code allows using of one of the rooms in a private residential property for providing a legal address; however, the city executive committee officials think it does not. It seems that Brest authorities have taken a deliberate decision to ban the legal activities of the Party’s offices in Brest,” says Mrs. Liudmila Dzianisenka, chair of the Fair World’s local office
