Siarhei Trafimchyk, resident of Biarozauka, Lida district, has lodged a complaint with Hrodna regional prosecutor’s office, appealing actions by Masty road police who detained the activist for alleged theft and eventually seized his car, together with several copies of independent periodicals.
The seizure was reportedly sanctioned by the district prosecutor. However, Mr. Trafimchyk says the paper had neither a seal nor the prosecutor’s signature on it.
During an interrogation on 8 October, Siarhei Trafimchyk was threatened with criminal prosecution for alleged libel of President found in the seized periodicals.
