Chief of Mahiliou Kastrychnitski District Department of Internal Affairs has dismissed a complaint by local activist Yauhen Makuta against a fine for involvement in a “silent protest” on 21 September. The official reply says the policemen’s actions were lawful.
Yauhen Makuta was fined BYR 17,500 for distributing leaflets advertizing a “silent protest”. However, the verdict was pronounced in absentia, as the activist did not receive a court summons.
