The Babruisk City Court sentenced Viktar Buzinayeu, the head of the local office of the United Civil Party, to ten days of jail.
Judge Natallia Sheheda found the activist guilty of participating in an unauthorized event on 8 October. On that day, the People’s Assembly was held in Babruisk and Buzinau was detained, reports RFE/RL.
Policemen Malakhau and Milisheuski, who had detained the activist, gave evidence against him. Viktar Buzinayeu did not admit his guilt. He said the event on 8 October was held in compliance with the Law “On National And Local Assemblies”.
