On 5 November teacher Heorhi Stankevich was detained in Beshankovichy while transporting self-made newspaper “Kryvinka” to regular readers by bicycle. The newspaper isn't issued periodically, as the teacher publishes it at his own expense, and has a small circulation – 290 copies.

Mr. Stankevich has been issuing the newspaper for four years already, informing the population about notable events in the Beshankovich district.

On 5 November he was overtaken by a police car. The police told him to go the police station, where a report for unlawful distribution of the newspaper was drawn up on him. He was also told to wait for a trial.

Bear in mind that 18 months ago the teacher had been tried on similar charges. He didn't manage to prove that his newspaper wasn't a periodical edition, and was sentenced to pay a fine. The appeals to the regional and the supreme courts gave no results.
