Niakliayeu banned from going abroad for medical treatment
On 9 November the criminal correction inspection of the Leninski District of Minsk banned former presidential candidate Uladzimir Niakliayeu to go abroad for treatment. The politician told this to “Belorusski Partizan”.
“I want to get permission for going abroad for treatment. I do not consider myself a criminal, but I applied for permission in order they cannot bother my wife when I will be out or smash the door in my absence. I have serious problems with health after these perturbations,” Uladzimir Niakliayeu said.
On May 20, the Frunzenski District
Court of Minsk sentenced Uladzimir Niakliayeu to two years of suspended
sentence.
On 9 September the Leninski District Court of Minsk tightened conditions of
serving sentence for the politician. He must appear in police once a week and
remain at home from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. He is also banned from going outside Minsk. The politician is
forbidden from participating in and organizing mass political events.
The criminal correction inspection of the Leninski district has issued Niakliayeu
two official warnings for violation of the rules of serving sentence. The
politician may face a real prison term after the third warning.
Uladzimir Niakliayeu had
four hypertensive crises in the KGB jail. He has serious problems with his
back. After chief doctor of Emergency Hospital Viktar Sirenka gave out the
hardly alive patient to KGB officer on the night of 19 December, Uladzimir Niakliayeu
fears to take treatment courses in the country.
“I have to go, with or without permission. But I don’t want my wife to have any
problems in my absence,” Uladzimir Niakliayeu said.
