Brest Regional Court has dismissed an appeal against a BYR 875,000 fine imposed on Baranavichy organizer of the 8 October People’s Assembly Viktar Tsiapin.
“I was prosecuted for advertising a local assembly in accordance with the Mass Events Code. However, the Code says that it does not cover local assemblies. Therefore, there were no grounds to prosecute me”, says Mr. Tsiapin.
