Brest Leninski District Court has dismissed a complaint against a ban on holding a picket of support to political prisoners imposed by local executive officials.
The appeal was denied with reference to the alleged inappropriate location of the applied picket. Apart from that, the applicants reportedly failed to provide guarantees of medical, police and housing maintenance of the event.
Meanwhile, the court ignored an objection by one of the plaintiffs Viktar Chaikouski, who argued that numerous government-related events are regularly held in the city center without any interference from the authorities.
