The house of the editor-in-chief of “Borisovskie novosti” Anatoly Bukas has been searched.

“A received a phone call from the police. I was told that they were going to search my garage,” Anatoly Bukas, the editor-in-chief of “Borisovskie novosti” told to “Narodnaya Volya”. “To my question why the search was to be executed and what they were going to look for, policemen said: “Come and you will see.” As it turned out, someone called the police and told that stolen spare parts of cars are kept in my garage. They did not find anything except old and unsold copies of newspapers there.”

However after that incident the local newspaper of the executive committee, “Adzinstva”, published a strange article called “What is the real print run?” where the reporters of the newspaper tell about their participation in the search of the garage of Anatoly Bukas, editor-in-chief of “Borisovskie novosti”.

“The journalists of the newspaper of the executive committee created “a sensation” from the incident, telling that allegedly our newspaper does not enjoy popularity, and advertisers allegedly waste their money when they order ads in Borisovskie novosti”. I will sue “Adzinstva”, as the business reputation of our newspaper had been discredited,” Bukas said.

By the way, it is not the first attack against the independent newspaper, human rights activists informs. Thus, a month ago “Adzinstva” published an article which informed readers that the dwellers of the house where the editorial office of “Borisovskie novosti” is situated, visited the chairman of Barysau district executive committee with a complaint against the editorial office. They allegedly complained that visitors are coming all the time, and the entrance is noisy and untidy.
