Youth activists are tried at Minsk courts
Trials of youth
activists continued at the Maskouski District Court of Minsk despite the New
Year Holidays.
Nasta Shuleika, detained on 31 December near the delinquents’ isolation center
in Akrestsin Street,
was fined 700,000 rubles by Judge Viktar Kozak. The girl was kept in the
delinquents’ isolation center till trial.
Another detainee, Vikotryia Rymashkevich, was fined the same sum by Judge
Sviatlana Bandarenka.
Pavel Vinahradau, an activist of the civil movement “Tell the Truth!” detained
on 30 December, was sentenced to 7 days of arrest by Judge Kostrykau.
The Kastrychnitski District Court of Minsk started hearings on the
administrative case of Ales Krot, an activist of the “Student Council”,
detained on 31 December and charged under Article 17.1 of the Code of
Administrative Offences, “disorderly conduct”. The trial was postponed to 12
January.
