Baranavichy city executive committee has issued two bans on a picket (25 January) and a meeting (19 January) applied for by local pro-democratic activist Mikalai Charnavus.
The bans say the activist violated Art. 2 and Art. 5 of the Mass Events Code.
Mr. Charnavus says the grounds are falsified.
“The authorities fear 600 people will come, so they are inventing trivial reasons to ban the events”, says the activist.
