Protestant priest Antoni Bokun appeals police assault on his house
The priest filed an appeal with the Maskouski District
Procuracy of Minsk in connection with the assault on his house, committed by a
riot police brigade on 8 February.
In his appeal Mr. Bokun states that the people in civvies didn't introduce
themselves, didn't give any explanations. Though nobody prevented them from
entering the house (the doors weren't closed), the people in civvies broke two
windows, one of which was broken together with the frame, and smashed about ten
dishes.
This was done during the detention of participants of the “Litvins' Club” who
held their gathering at the house. The applicant believes that the police
violated his rights and legal interests, damaged his property and did moral
harm to him. That's why he demands that a procuracy holds a check-up on such
actions of officers of the Maskouski District Police Department of Minsk and
punish the guilty in conformity with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
