On 16 February, Baranavichy entrepreneur Mikalai Charnavus lodged a complaint with Brest Regional Court, appealing 10 February conviction for alleged usurpation of power during the creation of the Kobzar Ukrainian minority association.
In his appeal against a BYR 70,000 fine, Mr. Charnavus argues that the founding congress of Kobzar elected him chair of the association on 24 February 2011. Mikalai Charnavus says his actions did not constitute any legal violations and urges the Court to reverse the ruling by Baranavichy District Court.
