Artsiom Markhasiou was summonsed to the police in the evening of 29 February. The reason was that the police allegedly wanted to specify some details concerning the administrative case that had been instigated against him and three more people for lighting candles on Dziady, the Ancestors' Day.

Bear in mind that all participants of the action had been tried by court and sentenced to pay 700,000 rubles fine each. Mr. Markhasiou appealed the court verdict at the regional court and now is waiting for an answer from the Supreme Court.

“The police officer asked me some unimportant question, such as what was the answer of the regional court and whether I received an answer from the Supreme Court. Most probably, it was done to justify the invitation. However, it was clear that their main aim was to take my fingerprints. I demanded to be shown a paper where it was stated that all people who receive administrative penalties must be fingerprinted, and they really found such a paper,” commented the activist.
