On 19 March, Asipovichy resident Ihar Simbirou filed an appeal with the KGB chair Vadzim Zaitsau against the KGB Minsk city and regional chief U. Kalach, after the high official ignored a number of statements submitted by Mr. Simbirou.
“My last letter was sent to Minsk KGB chief in early February. Now it’s late March, and there’s still no answer”, says Ihar Simbirou.
By submitting appeals to the KGB, Ihar Simbirou, who is famous as a musician, has been trying to regain the property seized at his apartment during a search following the 2010 presidential election. He also had to serve 15 days of arrest for involvement in the 19 December 2010 post-election protest.
