Baranavichy: attempt to protect right to fair election
Baranavichy-based entrepreneur and civil activist
Mikalai Charnavus applied to the Baranavichy City Court with a request to find
unlawful the re-election of the Council of the central market of Baranavichy.
The matter is that the re-election wasn't conducted by the general assembly of
the entrepreneurs, but by the administration of the market.
As he writes in the appeal, he applied to the city and the regional procuracies
with the same request. "However, the prosecutor's of the Baranavichy
district, Hrusheuski A.V. and Tochka A.T. didn't implement their duties and
evaded from giving substantial answers to the questions put to them. That's why
I decided to apply to the Baranavichy court, asking to annul the
"re-election" to the market Council held on 18-20 December 2011 and
oblige the defendant to return me the state fee, 105,000 rubles,"
explained Mikalai Charnavus.
