Siarhei Lis, a member of the United Civil Party from
the town of Aziory (Hrodna district) stated that last week-end he had been
groundlessly stopped by the road police on the way from Hrodna to Aziory.
After this he had a talk with a man dressed in mufti, who asked him about
another resident of Aziory, UCP member Kiryl Semianchyk, who had left for Warsaw after the
presidential election of 2010 and asked for political asylum there. The stranger,
who the activist suspects to be a KGB officer, tried to intimidate him and even
threatened with 15-day arrest for refusal to give the needed information about
Mr. Semianchyk.
