Pavel Siarhei, activist of the Young Front youth opposition movement, was detained and taken to a detention center in Akrestsin Street back on 22 April, the Young Front’s press-service reports.
His associates say he is going to stand trial today for alleged violation of Art. 17.1 of the Administrative Code (“disorderly conduct”).
“The detention is definitely linked to the upcoming Chernobyl Way march, as Minsk city police chief Colonel Yauseyeu is apparently afraid of the protest,” says Young Front deputy chairman Mikalai Dzemidzenka.
