Ihar Simbirou, Asipovichy activist of the Teel the Truth civil campaign, has reportedly declared a hunger strike while serving ten days of arrest in Minsk detention center in Akrestsin Street, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, quoting his former cellmate.
According to the ex-prisoner, the activist is sure that nobody knows about his arrest. Therefore, he is going to be on hunger strike until he receives news from outside the prison.
Ihar Simbirou was detained at Minsk central railway station on 26 April and imprisoned on charges of disorderly conduct on the same day. The activist was reportedly beaten during the arrest.
