Ihar Simbirou tried for disorderly conduct
The musician, detained
at a picnic near Minsk
in the evening of 6 May (together with signer Zmitser Bartosik and 12
listeners), spent the night at the delinquents’ isolation center in Akrestsin Street. All
other people were released after finger-printing and videoing.
On 6 May Ihar Simbirou had been released after serving 10-day arrest following
a preventive detained on the eve of the “Chernobyl Way” action in Minsk on 26 April.
On 7 May Mr. Simbirou was taken to court at 2 p.m. The trial was led by Judge
Aliaksei Minich. Ihar Simbirou stated that the police gave him a false
accusation and demanded that those police officers who had detained them be
questioned by the court.
He also stated that he started an indefinite hunger-strike.
At 5.30 p.m. the trial was postponed till 18 May. Ihar Simbirou was released.
