Yauhen Vaskovich doesn't receive even birthday postcards
The former colleague of
Yauhen Vaskovich in "Babruiski Kur'yer" newspaper Alesia Skapintsava
finally received the first letter from him. In this letter he didn't confirm
the guess of Babruisk residents that only their letters weren't let through. In
fact, his letters don't reach all addressees either.
"Pitifully enough, I don't receive your letters, though I have written
earlier. I will continue writing, will be it be possible," reads the
letter. Yauhen also says that his health and mood are alright and passes
greetings to all fellow journalists.
Vaskovich's party colleague Taisiya Kabanchuk still hasn't received any letters
from him. His grandmother stated that her grandson still hasn't received any
congratulation postcards on the occasion of his birthday, 26 February, though
his Babruisk colleagues and friends sent him several dozens of postcards.
"It's a pity that the censors don't let through even
congratulations," says Taisiya Kabanchuk. "I am sure that the
authorities make this on purpose, so that our political prisoners would remain
in isolation, feeling no support."
