The confiscation of a number of copies of the Nash Dom independent newsletter on 20 May was legal, says a reply from Orsha Department of Internal Affairs.
In particular, the reply refers to the presence of the Nash Dom’s campaign logo on the newsletter as a sufficient ground for considering it a periodical. At the same time, the law says nothing of the logo, as it is regularly issued printed media that can be considered periodicals.
The newsletters were seized from reporter of the Vitsebski Kurier independent newspaper Yulia Kanapliova.
