Baranavichy civil activist Ryhor Hryk has received a reply from the city’s executive committee, saying that the activist’s application for holding a picket on 24 June has been dismissed.
The ban refers to the applicant’s alleged violation of Art. 6 of the Mass Events Code. However, the executive officials fail to specify which provision has been violated by Mr. Hryk.
The picket was aimed at protesting against the repressive policy of the current regime.
This is a sixth ban on holding pickets issued by Baranavichy authorities this year.
