A number of Hrodna journalists have sent an open letter to the Prosecutor General of Belarus, expressing their protests against the criminal charges brought against reporter Andrei Pachobut.
The potential imprisonment of Andrei Pachobut does not meet the minimum standards in the field of freedom of speech and the country’s international obligations, says the open letter signed by some 20 persons.
Members of the Hrodna office of the Belarusian Association of Journalists demand to immediately release Andrei Pachobut and drop the criminal charges he is facing for alleged criticism of President Lukashenka.
