Pickets against poverty still under ban
The city authorities of Orsha again refused to allow members of Fair World left party to hold mass events.
It was the forth time in the last months when the party activists have applied for holding pickets against deterioration in living standards. They wanted to organize pickets at the places officially permitted for mass events, Viasna human rights centre reports.
The authorities of Orsha set a rule – one can apply for holding a picket or a rally only if contracts for public security, medical and cleaning services are attached to the application. The applicants had a contract for cleaning services, but chief doctor of the Orsha central polyclinic Uladzimir Plytkevich says he will sign a contract for medical services only after the city authorities permit the picket.
The city authorities, for their part, don't give permission for the picket referring to absence of a contract with the polyclinic.
