Yahor Viniatski was invited to police station to be detained and taken to detention facility
On 30 June an activist of “Zmena” (the youth wing
of the “Tell the Truth” civil initiative) Yahor Viniatski received a call from
the Pershamaiski District Police Department. He was invited to come to the
department at 5 p.m. in connection with his application concerning the theft of
his laptop.
When Yahor came there, a report of administrative offence was drawn up against
him, after which he was taken to the detention facility in Akrestsin Street in
Minsk. The trial will take place only on 4 July, despite the fact that the
legal term for his detention, 72 hours, expires in the evening of 3 July.
Bear in mind that at 7 a.m.
on 30 June another “Zmena” activist, Vital Vasilkou, was taken away from his
home and taken to the Frunzenski District Police Department. The police also
haunted other civil activists, which is connected with the upcoming official
Independence Day.
