Hrodna Regional Court has upheld an earlier decision of Slonim District Court of 12 July, which fined local activist of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Volha Pansevich BYR 2 mln for alleged swearing and resisting arrest.
Mrs. Pansevich was detained on 21 April in Slonim. According to the activist, the policemen sued violence during the arrest. She was later beaten in the police station.
The activist says she is going to appeal the court ruling at the Supreme Court of Belarus.
