Ministry of Justice threatens Belarusian Popular Front
The BPF party received a letter from the
Ministry of Justice over “violations of requirements of legislation and the
party statute”.
The letter enlists the violations related to record management, lists of party
members, official correspondence forms and using party symbols. The Ministry
notes these violations may be a ground to issue a written warning to the BPF
party. Deputy minister of justice Ihar Tushynski
offers the party to remove defects withing a month.
BPF head Aliaksei Yanukevich
supposes the close attention of the ministry is caused by BPF's activity ahead
of the elections. He promises party's activity will only grow after the
nomination of parliamentary candidates.
“We have informed the Ministry of Justice about calling an unscheduled BPF
congress in compliance with the law. Shortly afterwards, we received this
letter with criticism. I do not rule out they are preparing grounds to doubt
the legality of nomination candidates from our party,” the BPF press service
quotes Yanukevich.
The BPF head also notes the party already gave explanations on most of the
disputable critical remarks. Nevertheless, the BPF party plans to corrects the
mistakes pointed out by the Ministry of Justice.
“We are getting prepared for the congress to propose our members as
parliamentary candidates. We will do our best not to give grounds to dispute
the decisions of the party supreme body,” Yanukevich said.
