Correspondents of “Deutschlandradio” denied accreditation
Gesine Dornblüth, a correspondent for “Deutschlandradio” working in Moscow
since January intended to elucidate the pace of the parliamentary election in
Belarus. However, the Belarusian MFA refused to issue her an accreditation
without explaining the reasons.
The Belarusian Ambassador in Berlin
proposed the “Deutschlandradio” to repeat the inquiry in a year. The radio can also try to get accreditation
for another journalist. Before this, the German journalists who were accredited
in Moscow had no problems with receiving
accreditation in Belarus.
According to Gesine Dornblüth, last year she visited Belarus and told about the tense
social situation. “I also gave the floor to regional critics of the regime.
It's quite possible that this irritated the officials. I also don't rule out
that Belarus
takes revenge for the sanctions from the side of the EU and “Deutschlandradio” became an
occasional victim,” commented the journalist.
