Mazyr prosecuting authorities back mass events restrictions
Mazyr human rights defender Uladizmir Tseliapun has received a reply from the district’s Prosecutor’s Office to his statement challenging the legality of mass events restrictions imposed in decision No. 1202 of October 12, 2011 by the district executive authorities.
The statement dealt with the practical impossibility of staging a mass event in the town, as it is nearly impossible to sign contracts with the departments mentioned in the decision to secure maintenance of the event and the payment for their services.
The reply signed by acting district’s Prosecutor Zhuleh says that “the determined measures do not contradict the Constitutional rights and freedoms, do not result in their deprivation, and meet the objectives of protecting public and state interests, rights and freedoms under Art. 6 of the Mass Events Code.”
