Hrodna Regional Court fined today Valer Bulhakau, editor-in-chief of the ARCHE literary magazine, 500,000 rubles for illegal selling of the edition, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports.
The Court also ruled to seize the money received for the copies sold by Valer Bulhakau.
Valer Bulhakau faced charges of illegal entrepreneurship after he visited Hrodna to present a book entitled “The Sovietization of Western Belarus”, which was published by ARCHE’s editorial board. The presentation was stopped by tax inspection officials, who seized some 200 copies of the book and the magazine, for which Mr. Bulhakau failed to provide invoices.
