Two activists of the Young Front opposition movement were detained on 27 October in the town of Miory, Vitsebsk region, following the wedding ceremony of Young Front member Mikola Dzemidzenka.
Raman Vasiliyeu and Zmitser Kremianetski were charged with disorderly conduct under Art. 17.1 of the Administrative Code. Human rights defenders fear the detentions were aimed at isolating the activists ahead of the traditional Dziady feast to commemorate the dead, which currently attracts much public attention as a political event.
