“Young Front” activist Uladzimir Yaromenak sentenced to 15 days of arrest
The activist was detained by the guards
of the House of the Parliament in the evening of 6 November.
According to mfront.net, on the eve of 7 November “YF” activists decided to
follow the example of past opponents of the Communist ideology and spilled
valerian tincture on the monument to Lenin in Nezalezhnasts Square in Minsk to organize the cats from the surrounding
territories to come there and express their feelings.
Uladzimir Yaromenak was guarded to the Maskouski District Police Department. The
trial over him started in the morning of 8 November, as 7 November is an
official day-off. Only one witness bore testimony – the deputy head of the
Maskouski DPD Aleh Bihunou.
At 2.10 p.m. the judge Tatsiana Motal announced the verdict, according to which
Uladzimir Yaromenak was found guilty under Article 17.1 of the Code of
Administrative Offences (“disorderly conduct”) and sentenced to 15 days of
arrest.
