“Granit” becomes an unreliable enterprise
The Mikashevichy-based state enterprise
“Granit” has been put on a list of suspicious enterprises by the
International Labor Organization due to regular violations of rights
of members of the independent trade union.
This step of the
ILO was preceded by a continuous persecution of members of the
independent trade union at “Granit”, some of whose activists were
dismissed from work.
Meanwhile, the head of the independent
trade union at “Granit” Aleh Stakhayevich states that it is very
difficult for the dismissed activists to find jobs at state
enterprises, as the information about them is passed to the personnel
departments of all state enterprises. That's why they have to look
for other ways to earn their living, including out of
Belarus.
According to Mr. Stakhayevich, the administration of
the enterprise continues pressurizing workers, calling them to
“talks” and “advising” to refuse from membership in the trade
union.
