Picket of the Belarusian Christian Democracy banned in Navapolatsk
An activist of the organization committee for creation of the
party Belarusian Christian Democracy received a response from the
city executive committee with a refusal to allow the
picket.
Navapolatsk BChD activists applied for the picket on
26 November. The action was forbidden with a reference to the
executive committee’s ruling #58, according to which rallies and
pickets should only be held on one site of the city – at the
entrance to the city park, bchd.info reports.
“We
intentionally did not apply for a picket on the site, defined by the
executive committee. The aim of the picket was to attract the public
attention which is impossible to do at the park’s entrance. On week
days it is difficult to see at least one person there”, a BChD
activist Siarhei
Malashonak noted.
