Andrei Bandarenka, head of the Platforma human rights group, was detained and searched by the Belarusian customs officials shortly after landing at Minsk international airport on 16 December.
A customs officer took Mr. Bandarenka’s passport after she phoned someone, Platforma’s web-site reports. Some 20 minutes later Andrei Bandarenka was approached by two customs officers who said that he would have to go through an additional security search. They then searched his hand baggage and personal belongings.
