Brest: independent journalists issued with an official warning
The
Brest Region Prosecutor's office warned Alina Litvinchuk, a member of
the Belarusian Association of Journalists, about the inadmissibility
of cooperation with foreign media without official
accreditation.
The prosecutor's office came to the conclusion
that the articles which were published at the website of Radio
"Racyja" under the nickname Alisa Pol really belonged to
Alina Litvinchuk. However, the deputy prosecutor of the Brest region
Aliaksandr Tochka, who passed the warning to the journalist, failed
to explain how the prosecutor's office had come to such
conclusion.
It's worth mentioning that the journalist came to
the prosecutor's office without receiving an official summons, as
unknown people kept phoning her, urging her to come there. People in
mufti kept paying visits to the apartment rented by Alina Litvinhuk
and questioning her neighbors.
