Counsel finally allowed to meet with Andrei Haidukou at the KGB prison
On 11
February the counsel met with Andrei Haidukou who is charged with
state treachery in the form of intelligence activities.
According
to Andrei's mother, Volha Haidukova, it lasted several hours and was
the first one since his transfer to the KGB pre-trial prison in
Minsk.
"The counsel visited him at 10 a.m. and talked to
him up to the evening – this was the first time we were lucky
enough. Of course, nobody has told me any details. My son keeps and
looks well as usual. He said he was healthy. It was the first time
they talked after a long break. I think they talked about the things
I have no idea of. Most probably, the both of them had some
questions. The counsel is Andrei's only connection with the outer
world, that's why it is good that they managed to meet."
The
investigation into Andrei Haidukou's case was extended for another
month.
The 23-year-old worker of "Naftan" was
detained on 8 November 2012 in Vitsebsk. The KGB alleges the
detention was conducted why he was making a hiding place with some
political and economical information which could be interesting for
foreign intelligence services.
On the other hand, Andrei
Haidukou doesn't take the blame and warned his mother about the
possible fabrication of the case against him in his earlier letters.
