UN Human Rights Committee registers complaint by Fair World Zhlobin members
The UN Human Rights Committee has registered one of the complaints submitted by the Zhlobin members of the Left Party “Fair World” to challenge a ban imposed on a number of pickets by the local district executive committee in 2012. This was announced by head of Fair World’s district office Valery Rybchanka.
“We sent two complaints to the UN Human Rights Committee. One deals with the local authorities’ ban on several pickets in support of political prisoners last year – and it’s the one they’ve registered. And there is another complaint, which concerns the rigging of the presidential election in 2010 and our appeals to various authorities on the matter – they asked to comment on it in more detail. Now it’s just what our lawyers are doing,” says Valery Rybchanka.
Zhlobin activist of the “Fair World” Party previously submitted complaints to the UN Human Rights Committee on similar claims in 2011 and 2012.
