Baranavichy activists apply for authorization a picket dated to 95th anniversary of Belarusian People's Republic
On 7 March, civil activists of
Baranavichy filed an application with Baranavichy City Executive
Committee for the authorization of their picket dedicated to the 95th
anniversary of the Belarusian People's Republic.
The aim of
the action is to inform the Baranavichy citizens that on 25 March
1918 Belarusians declared the independence of their state and that
BPR was the foundation on which the Belarusian Soviet Socialist
Republic and the present-day Belarus were grounded.
"We
intend not only to turn the people's attention to the establishment
of our first national state, Belarusian People's Republic, in March
1918, but also to express disagreement with the steps made by the
present authorities in the political, economical and cultural
spheres," stated civil activist Viktar Syrytsa.
The
picket is expected to gather about ten participants.
