Biarozauka activist called for “preventive conversation”
Siarhei Trafimchyk, regional coordinator of the “For Freedom” opposition movement from the town of Biarozauka, Hrodna region, is facing groundless harassment from local police. On March 22 he received a phone call from the head of Lida district police department who asked the activist to appear for an interview.
On March 23 it turned out that the police chief was away and it would be available the following day. As a result, Siarhei Trafimchyk received summons urging him to appear in the police department on March 24, the day of celebrating the 95th anniversary of the Belarusian People’s Republic. However, the notice says nothing of the nature of the expected interrogation or the status of the activist.
Siarhei Trafimchyk left in an entry book of complaints, as he is convinced that such a call is illegal.
