Khrystafor Zhaliapau and Aliaksei Haurutsikau ask Vitsebsk City Executive Committee to familiarize them with the yearly schedule of the usage of this park. They also filed two new applications for mass events to Pershamaiski District Executive Committee of Vitsebsk.

"We were told that some sports contests would be held in the park on 25 March. However, I didn't meet a single sportsman there on that day. When I asked what was wrong, the administration of the sportive complex "Kamsamolets" answered that the contests had been canceled by the department of culture, sports and tourism back on 22 March due to the bad weather conditions and felling of trees in the park on 25 March. Meanwhile, nobody informed us about such change of the circumstances", said Mr. Haurutsikau.

Aliaksei Haurutsikau and the other organizer of the mass event on the Freedom Day, head of Vitsebsk branch of the "For Freedom" movement Khrystafor Zhaliapau have good reasons to believe that the district authorities weren't completely sincere when taking the decision to ban the event.

"We ask Vitsebsk City Executive Committee to familiarize us with the adopted schedule of events in 30-hoddzia VLKSM Park in order to prevent similar situations in future and avoid suspicions in monkey business on the part of the district administration", said Mr. Zhaliapau.

While waiting for an answer of the district authorities, Zhaliapau and Haurutsikau filed applications for two mass events in that park. On 12 April they intend to hold a picket against the impoverishment of the Belarusian people and in support of political prisoners, and on 26 April – a rally dedicated to the 27th anniversary of Chernobyl accident.
