Ministry of Justice admits that Young Christian Democrats really held their assembly
On 9 April the Supreme Court held a
sitting on the appeal of the registration denial, issued to the civil
association "Young Christian Democrats" by the Ministry of
Justice.
"During the sitting, officers of the Ministry of
Justice posed new absurd pretensions, which hadn't been voiced
before, neither in the ministry's response, nor during the
preliminary hearings," stated the UCD chairperson Maryna
Khomich.
At the same time, as it was found during the trial,
during its check-up the ministry made use of data which were at least
two years old. In particular, the ministry stated that the home
address of the deputy head of YCD Volha Kavalkova was incorrect,
referring to the address at which she had been registered more than
two years ago.
This time the ministry also refrained from
statements that YCD hadn't held its constituent assembly. Its
representatives stated they had no pretensions to it when they were
proposed to watch a video from the assembly.
