Young Front activist appeals violations by Salihorsk court to Ministry of Justice
The Young Front member Andrei Tychyna sent to the Ministry of Justice a complaint against the delay in issuing a ruling by Salihorsk District Court.
On July 17, 2012 the young man addressed Minsk Regional Court with an appeal against the decision of the District Court of Salihorsk, who had previously dismissed Andrei Tychyna’s complaint about the decision of the district executive committee chairman to ban a bike ride. However, it took six months to receive a copy of the ruling by Minsk Regional Court on the appeal.
“In February, the District Court of Salihorsk did send me a copy of the ruling by Minsk Regional Court on my case. However, for six months I have been actually deprived of the opportunity to complain about the violation of my civil and political rights to the UN Human Rights Committee,” says Andrei Tychyna.
To prevent such action by the courts in the future, the young man decided not to leave the illegal actions of the judiciary without punishment and appealed the violations to the Ministry of Justice. The Young Front activist requires a response to the misconduct of Salihorsk District Court, as well as the incompetent actions of the Chief Department of Justice of Minsk Regional Executive Committee, who earlier sided with the Salihorsk court.
It should also be noted that Andrei Tychyna is going to submit a complaint to the UN Human Rights Committee in the near future.
