Hrodna human rights defender summoned to KGB
Hrodna human rights defender and journalist Uladzimir Khilmanovich has been summoned to the KGB’s regional department after he received a phone call from a KGB officer Dalhikh.
The KGB employee said Uladzimir Khilmanovich was to appear at the KGB office this afternoon. However, he failed to specify the exact reasons for the expected interrogation, saying that the visit “is within the jurisdiction of the KGB’s department.”
“I don’t know what exactly the conversation will deal with, but I have no doubt that the reason for this is my journalist’s and human rights activities. Lately, I have noticed close attention to me from the security services, including groundless detention when crossing the border, and several indirect facts,” said Uladzimir Khilmanovich to Radio Racyja.
