The students of the Mahiliou-based Belarusian-Russian University have been warned by group monitors, prohibiting participation in unsanctioned public events.
If the students take part in all sorts of marches, rallies and demonstrations, they will have big problems with their studies, say the monitors.
The students say the monitors were instructed by the dean’s office.
The measures are aimed at preventing the students from participating in today’s memorial meeting to mark the 27th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. The event is scheduled for 6 p.m.
